The check payment traditions are still modern in the North American countries and mostly in USA, but this tradition was closed in England. After 300 years of using checks, the British council stopped these transactions, so the only alternatives of cash payments are electronic banking, card and online transactions. However the USA is still using this way for payment, as the checks are having own advantages in comparison with other electronic ways of payment. The checks are safety way for carrying your money with you and also there are no restrictions for size of the transfer. The main advantages are also the low taxes, the privacy and the acknowledgment of your payments. Definitely the most important feature of the check is the personalization. You can order designer checks for cheap prices and this can be a business card of yourself, then making any check payment. Of course your bank can give you some standard checks, but you can easy order cool checks, which can have business information, picture or just some interesting design. Definitely the check payment is having large advantages in comparison with simple bank transfers. And the most important advantage is the personalization of your check book.

The profits of the U.S. banks continue to rise, but the trend is due largely to fewer resources allocated to cover potential losses announced by the federal Agency for Deposit Insurance. The banking sector gained 28.8 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2011, which is 7.9 billion dollars over the same period last year. The agency warned again that this increase in profit can not be supported simply by reducing the resources allocated against losses.
“Since the levels of reserves against losses approaching historic levels, the prospects for increasing profits thanks to lower reserves further decreased,” said acting chairman of the board of directors of the agency Martin Gryunbarg in his note. The revenues of banks continued to decline. In the second quarter operating income decreased by $ 3 billion or 1.8% compared to levels from the same period of 2010, by the agency. The positive signal for the sector is that part of the credit balance is increased for the first time in three years by 0.9% to 64.4 billion dollars.

At the end of his term as president of the Massachusetts Commission Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC – Securities and Exchange Commission) Christopher Cox said his greatest mistake was three-week ban on short selling in the midst of financial crisis in 2008. He believes that the negatives outweigh the benefits of such a measure. This does not mean that U.S. regulators will be tempted to resort to it again after banking stocks were sold because of fears that debt problems in Europe could cause a new crisis of this scale with Lehman Brothers. If the big banks on fears escalate and reach the U.S., then U.S. regulators can follow the example of France, Belgium, Italy and Spain, on Thursday decided to ban short selling in shares of banks and insurers – the practice of selling shares borrowed then hoping to be bought at lower prices to be returned. Earlier this week introduced a two-month ban Greece, South Korea – quarterly, and Turkey reported that increasing control over transactions short and regulatory authorities in the country have started investigations against brokers on suspicion of market manipulation.

During the week the investors withdrew 7.7 billion dollars of funds in equities in emerging markets – the largest withdrawal since January 2008 and third in history. The withdrawn funds represent 1.1% of assets under management, a study of EPFR Global. After the withdrawal of a similar scale over the last decade MSCI Emerging Markets index has grown on average by 17% in the next six months, recording growth rates in 11 of the 12 cases. The index MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) for 21 emerging markets fell by 20% from its peak in early May because of concerns that the U.S. economy stagnant and European debt crisis intensifies. The fall sent his ratio P / E (price / earnings expected for the next 12 months) to 30% below 20-year average of 8.9 times. The withdrawals from the fund are counter signal to the market recovery since shown that pessimistic investors have already sold, said Michael Ganske, Head of Research in emerging markets in Commerzbank.
“When the investors panic on selling is a good time to open positions”, he said. “Definitely worth reassessing exposures to emerging markets in these very low levels.”

In the first half of 2011, most developed economies have slowed their growth, and some even experienced a decline quite frankly. Optimists say that the slowdown is temporary. This illusion has long been in history, says Nouriel Roubini, an economics professor at the University of New York. Even before the panic of last week’s data on U.S. and other developed countries shows clearly that most likely these economies will fall in the second severe recession. Recent data for the U.S. economy not shining – to create enough new jobs, growth is weak, consumption and industrial production remained stagnant and the real estate market is still depressed. Consumer confidence, business and investors is low, and now will weaken even more. The economies of the periphery of the eurozone in the best case with a negligible rate increase. The risk that Italy or Spain, and possibly both, will lose access to debt markets is very high. Unlike Greece, Portugal and Ireland, Italy and Spain are too big to be bailed out. The British economy has almost zero growth due to the negative impact of measures to reduce the budget deficit. The recovery of Japan after the earthquake in March will also be temporary and the country will again fall into stagnation after the economic incentives dry up. The worse – the leading indicators of production slowing sharply as in emerging markets like China, India and Brazil and for export-oriented or resource-rich countries such as Germany and Australia.
