Crude oil went down to 75 USD per barel

The U.S. consumer confidence in June dropped heavily to the level of 52.9 points in June, after a month earlier was 62.7 points. This prompted a sharp drop in U.S. stock exchange yesterday, as predictions were for much more limited decrease in the index. On the New York Stock Exchange yesterday, oil contracts with delivery in August fell by 3 percent to 75.94 dollars a barrel. This is the largest decline in raw material from June 4 onwards. The night continued retreat of the quotes this morning and they were 0.4 percent lower at 75.66 dollars a barrel. Thus, the raw material is directed to the first quarterly drop in prices from late 2008 onwards. From late March till now, oil has dropped by 9.4 per cent. Yesterday in London, Brent crude oil from the supply in August fell 2.8 percent to 75.44 dollars a barrel.

Three more banks were closed for a week in USA

BankThe end of the working week has brought the closure of three U.S. banks. Thus the number of bank failures in the country since the beginning of the year amounted to 86 and is on track to improve last year’s record of 140 closed financial institutions – the highest number since 1992. Weak expectations for a breakthrough at the meeting of G-8 in Canada

U.S. President Barack Obama invited 18 African leaders to come to Washington in August to celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence of their countries forward AFP, citing a senior U.S. delegation to the summit of the G-8. Obama will launch in early August a special event to mark the coming of a half century of independence of these former colonies.

France beat Germany with decreasing of the deficit

Euro MoneyThe French Government announced on Friday a new tax increase amounted to 3.5 billion in 2011, reported Financial Times. The total increase in tax revenue next year will reach 13.2 billion, ahead of Germany’s program to reduce the budget deficit amounting to 11 billion euros in 2011. Revenue from the increase, however, retreated to the increase in VAT by 2,5 percentage points in Britain next year, which is expected to bring 12.1 billion pounds (14.7 billion). The series of tax increases to reduce budget deficit expected for this year’s 8 percent of GDP to 6% in 2011 as promised to the European Union (EU). The plans are based on forecast economic growth of 2.5 percent next year, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the EU and many economists are optimistic about. The last tax increase should reassure the financial markets, but not cause panic in society. Earlier in the month the French government announced increased taxes on business and the rich worth 3.7 billion euros to help fill the deficit in the pension system. Paris still hopes to collect 1 billion in 2011 from the new bank tax.

Crude oil increase its price with 3% to about 79 USD

Crude Oil shrankThe crude oil price rose over 3% to near 79 dollars a barrel after the National Center for hurricanes in the United States estimated that 80% is likely forming tropical storm in the Atlantic to strike the Gulf this weekend. This will disrupt oil production in the bay and will make cleaning the oil spill caused by the explosion and sinking of the oil platform BP Deepwater Horizon. About 31%, or 1.69 million barrels of daily production of crude oil in the U.S. comes from platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. The strong rise in the price of energy and raw materials contributed depreciation of the dollar which retreated from almost all major currencies. Oil futures rose 3.1 percent, or 2.35 dollars to finish the trade in New York at the level of 78.86 dollars a barrel. This was the biggest daily rise since June 9 and the highest price level for last seven weeks. Euro more expensive by about half a percent against the dollar to 1.2387 dollars per euro. Fall of course the dollar and lowers oil price expressed in other currencies. This increased the Brenta to 1.86 dollars or 2.4 percent, to 78.33 dollars per barrel on the International Petroleum Exchange in London.

US Indexes closed with decrease

Nasdaq Composite lost 1.63 percent to 2217 points. “The mood of the market is bleak,” said Steve Sosnik, strategist Timber Hill LLC / Interactive Brokers Group LLC. “The feeling is not good, and the reason is not just one article or adopting a new law. This is a disease, “he added. Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.41 percent to 10,153 points. J.P.
